"An electric friend lights quiet compassion"

An electric friend lights quiet compassion,
the ties that bind a subtle current
flowing at the speed of a flash
that is recognition in another's eyes

Unmatched is the bond, known
between friend and friend, they silently speak
a truth shared within

Sitting beside one another, they can agree
that the world is a convoluted mess
filled with random chaos in search
of stability, because stable is comfortable

Comfort in the lies is but a way
to pass the time, so we shake the present;
inside it may break or break us free
and either way relearn to just let go

Letting go is giving up the ghost
and surrendering to those demons
inside of us, the very pain
we've lived in until we can cry
it all away until another day

'Tis only through our pain can we see
the hidden miracle - We must ask
the question, no matter the result

"Jesus Hungry Wolf Mouth"

Church is like television,
different actors, same director,
the goal the same, buckets of coal
that collaborates with the only resource
that is truly a fantasy of sorts,
one that blinds me and you,
who rarely see eye to eye, I to I agree
to explode like firefly bombs in stellar delight,
a stardust epiphany that is golden brown,
one shade away from the belt I used to use
to bang for your buck,
fucking like a queen under a consenting king,
perpetuating the traditional roles in society,
boy meets girl problems are like assholes,
everybody is unwrapped and going crazy,
funkadelic phrase after psychedelic maze
that is easy to get lost in,
easy to be forgot in when you're confused
and racing out the door…

Pay no mind to opportunity lost
in a canary yellow bliss that isn't
at all as flavorable as gentle lemonade,
sour as all Hell in the mouth of the beholder,
just don't forget that, in the end, we all smoke
hash and eat peppercorn catfish,
low down, dirty reminders that never fail
to cleanse the world of all my filthy sins

"worth every effort"

But they said it was all
worth every effort even if no one else
understands. But what is understanding when
the world is waiting for anyone strong enough
to face the unknown wasteland that is gossamer
and blithe? Living sounds good on paper,
but so did a communism that is free and lustful
and true opportunities are passed by daily.
Are you willing to follow the herd
you sheep that sleep well and warm in their coats?
It's nice when it starts raining shit
that floats downriver and out to sea,
where you go to find out how little you know
in your heart of hearts
that is right in the middle of getting what you want,
because want is subjective, and need and want
are two faces of a coin that will
never, never say never again, but the
motion of my mind is making me dizzy,
tired, and, in the end, we all
sacrifice.
